*Don Henley at a bar*
"Did I ever tell you all about the time I met Rita?"
"Only about a million times!"

Saw Elton during his first US dates, I was still in HS. His first 3-5 albums were terrific, but then the slide towards caricature...Lion King music pretty good, though.

Jeff,
What can I say? I like all kinds of music.

Jeff,
And YES I am jealous. You have no idea!
Billy Joel before he was famous! I hate you. :)

Heard this on the way to work this morning:
Operator, oh could you help me place this call
You see the number on the matchbook is old and faded
She’s livin’ in L.A.
With my best old ex-friend Ray
A guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated
Isn’t that the way they say it goes
But let’s forget all that
And give me the number if you can find it
So I can call just to tell them I’m fine and to show
I’ve overcome the blow
I’ve learned to take it well
I only wish my words could just convince myself
But that’s not the way it feels
*sigh*
So much emotion packed into so few words. I wonder sometimes what Jim Croce might have gone on to do if he hadn't been killed.
*shakes off maudlin mood*
Anybody heard any good crapweasel jokes recently?

wysiwyg ... I second that good taste comment ... I love to listen to Jim Croce ... and yes, he did have a way with words. :(

Oh Punky. There's a sentimental sweetie there after all. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.
*Puts arm around Punky as they sing*
wizzy:
Yeah, I know it's kind of strange
But ev'ry time I'm near you
I just run out of things to say
I know you'd understand
Ev'ry time I tried to tell you
The words just came out wrong
So I'll have to say I love you in a song
Punky:
If I could save Time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
'Til Eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you
Wizzy:
What came between us?
Maybe we were just too young to know
But now and then
I feel the same,
And sometimes at night I think
I hear you calling my name
Mm, mm, these dreams
Keep me going these days
Punky:
You really gotta hand it to ya
'Cause boy you really tried
But for ev'ry time that we spent laughin'
There were two times that I cried
And you were tryin' to make me your martyr
And that's the one thing I just couldn't do
'Cause baby I can't hang upon no lover's cross for you
Together:
If I could save Time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
'Til Eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you
*snif*
Where’s the hanky?

wysiwyg, thanks for the earworm. :)
I *LOVE* that Fountains of Wayne song, "Red Dragon Tattoo." What album is it on? I've been meaning to buy it since I heard it on the radio...but I want to buy the album with that song.

wysiwyg ... I am an unbelievable mushball when it comes to love, sentimental songs and puppies. I'd sing with you anyday, honey.

Blogchik: Red Dragon Tattoo is on Utopia Parkway. Very good album, but my fave album of theirs is Welcome Interstate Managers.

punky, I'm totally NOT (I hate romance novels, romance movies, and mushy songs- and my roommaates love all 3, argh!), but I like that song anyway.
Corn, duly noted, and on my Christmas list. Not that I'm getting Christmas this year...
