{{{{{MarieP}}}}} What Rita said. I couldn't have said it better. You know we'll be here if you need us again. *smooch*
Why did the computer have to go on strike today? *grumbles* Giant Frog was in Cayenne all day, so he wasn't here to fix it at noon.
Oh well... At least I got a lot of studying done! I'm making slow but steady progress in Russian. The only problem is that every week I keep forgetting the names of the days of the week. I can only remmember one consistently, Saturday (subbota, can't be arsed to hunt and peck at the Russian keyboard at the moment).
I also saw the end of the fifth season of "ER". Noah Wyle just looks better and better with every passing episode. *drool* Can't hardly wait to get the sixth season on DVD!

How do you solve a problem like Maria?
Here's a funny story in the NYT about "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan". Borat, BTW, is Ali G., who I've finally seen due to the glories of YouTube.
Posted by: Blogchik | September 28, 2006 at 09:32 PM
Have you seen any of these yet, Kaf?
Posted by: Marie in Kourou | September 28, 2006 at 09:33 PM
Ew. I clicked MiK's link and found myself wondering: how does that woman get dressed in the morning? How does she do anything, in fact?

Are you eating that?
Posted by: Blogchik | September 28, 2006 at 10:48 PM
MiK: I just realized I've forgotten the Russian for Tuesday! Dangit! *bangs head against wall*
In related banging-head-against-wall news, I haven't gotten a reply to my email yet from Love Interest. I am practically dancing with frustration. I know he's busy, but still- write me you b*st*d! sheesh.
Posted by: Blogchik | September 28, 2006 at 10:51 PM
Flat tire, huh?
Posted by: Leetie | September 28, 2006 at 11:10 PM
will this be on the final?
should i drop the course?
do you give partial credit?
(the answers to all three are almost always 'yes' though i usually add for the last one 'if it's partially correct')
how many questions on the exam? (i have never understood how this conveys any information, i understand students are looking for some reassurance that the test won't be too long, but still...)
Posted by: insomniac | September 28, 2006 at 11:23 PM
Ewww, this is nasty. Want a taste?

What's wrong with Barry Manilow anyway?
Posted by: neophyte | September 28, 2006 at 11:42 PM
Why do you ask?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 28, 2006 at 11:55 PM
Did you study for the test?
Why did these leftovers turn green?
Posted by: Blogchik | September 28, 2006 at 11:57 PM
What's wrong with green. Doesn't that mean they're fresh?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 28, 2006 at 11:59 PM
No more stupid questions!
Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 12:12 AM

Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 12:17 AM

Posted by: Sarah J | September 29, 2006 at 12:37 AM
Didn't you just ask one?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 12:47 AM
Did I? Am I blonde?
Maybe I should go check
Posted by: Sarah J | September 29, 2006 at 12:49 AM
Don't you know if you're blond?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 12:55 AM
I am blonde! How did I forget?
Posted by: Sarah J | September 29, 2006 at 12:57 AM
How do I get rid of this stupid fly in my room?
Posted by: Sarah J | September 29, 2006 at 12:59 AM
Did you forget how you forgot?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 01:03 AM
Can't you swat it?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 01:07 AM
Is anybody there?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 01:19 AM
Swatting doesn't get rid of it. Will it die soon?
Posted by: Sarah J | September 29, 2006 at 01:20 AM
Update: Love Interest Guy wrote me an email!
I wish we were talking sooner than Sunday.
I wish I knew where this was going. I don't want to be all worked up for nothing. Yet, I am.
*crosses fingers* I hope, I hope, I hope this works out and turns into Something!
(You may now resume stupid questions.)
Going to bed!
Posted by: Blogchik | September 29, 2006 at 01:36 AM
Can you talk it into leaving?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 01:37 AM
Can you sleep with your fingers crossed?
Posted by: bbescuela | September 29, 2006 at 01:41 AM
Can I go to bed now?

Posted by: Kafaleni | September 29, 2006 at 03:19 AM
honestly I don't know why I'm awake, but i should have been asleep hours ago, especially since I've been up for nearly 24 hours now, and after only 5 hours of sleep each night for the past 3. I'm slipping again, and I don't know how to stop, and I'm afraid of where I'll land.
Posted by: Sarah J | September 29, 2006 at 05:02 AM
Sarah, you really really need to contact someone in your real life and get help. Help is out there; you just have to make the call.
((Sarah))
Ask a Stupid Question Day is OVER!!!

*loves Leetie the antidote*
Posted by: rita | September 29, 2006 at 06:45 AM
I forgot to mention,
MEGHAN'S HOME FOR THE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just peeked in at her sleeping. All you can see of her is her little ponytail lying on her pillow, her face hidden in her blankets.
She told me something I didn't want to hear last night; but I knew it was coming. After she graduates this May, she leaves for that frikkin' camp in New York to work for the summer. She's very excited about it; and I will be happy for her. I will be happy for her. I will be happy for her.
I just have to process this.
*grabs container of blackberry yogurt, checks label, and heads for work*
Posted by: slyeyes | September 29, 2006 at 07:04 AM
I envy you, sly. I'd hoped to go to Orlando for three days in October and it isn't going to happen. I miss my grandchildren so much and now I won't see them till Christmas.
It hurts so much to be so far from them.
Posted by: rita | September 29, 2006 at 07:23 AM
wat is life if full of care, u hav no time to stand and stare?
Who stole my vowels?
Posted by: Bangi | September 29, 2006 at 08:05 AM
*straps a pillow to Blogchik's forehead*
Your Russian is still miles better than mine, so don't worry about it!
Just so you know, I'm also having a hard time with numbers. I know they're stored somewhere in my brain, but whenever Marina quizzes me on them, my brain refuses to cooperate. Yesterday I couldn't recall how to say "seventeen." *sigh*
I'm glad Meghan likes working at that camp so much, Sly. I seem to remember her being really nervous about it this year before going.
