And Leetie, congrats on the new gigs (and new laptop).
OK, I can see the confusion has started already.
Trillian has been here awhile. Trinity is a newbie who joined us last night.
Unless you haven't met Trillian before, in which case, never mind.
Posted by: slyeyes | October 20, 2005 at 09:42 AM
*zips in*
Good morning from su.so.ca.
Leets, it's Trinity that's Peri's friend and is new here and may try to pull your finger, so be careful!
And - I go to your blog every day, hoping to see a new pic of a "fallen" shoe *sigh*???
*puts out danish to go with coffee*
Posted by: Eleanor | October 20, 2005 at 09:42 AM
...I've gone from tucking my nipples into my waisteband to pointing to the stars...Can't hardly wait to show 'em off.
*gets ticket and stands in MOAT line with a Krispy Kreme and coffee*
Hope my turn will come soon!
Rita - those knitting kneedles sure were a strange way to measure my waste! Effective, but strange.
LAB! Let's see $5/gallon in Europe? Yep. Very close. Math thingie (MOATies may want to skip this):
Czech Republic: 34 Kcs/liter, 24 kcs/$$, = $1.42/liter, about 4 liters = 1 gallon = $5.66/gallon.
Trinity Hope your First! exposure to the MOAT doesn't put you off. We're alot like mold, we grow on you.
What!? Mold's not a good choice? Ok.
TOE JAM!
haven't said THAT in awhile....
got to go czech Wilma's progress.....
Posted by: kibby f5` | October 20, 2005 at 09:48 AM
Aargh! I meant to type Trinity! I really did! But my fingers weren't listening.
Trinity, welcome.
Trillian, sorry to stick my finger in your face again.
Sorry about the lame blog. I've found no more shoes and I have nothing funny or interesting to say lately. I've been too wrapped-up in my own little world... but it sure is nice to sit here and eat breakfast with you all again!
Posted by: Leetie | October 20, 2005 at 09:51 AM
Well, looks like Wilma's Whimp'n (hope she's not on the MOAT). Maybe it's because she knows The Kibster's in St. Pete and just WON'T PUT UP WITH HER SH!T!
Leetie, I'm next door to your sister. Should I drop in and say HI? - or not...
*decissions, go play golf? - go hang out by the pool?*
Vacations are so hard!!!!
Posted by: kibby f5` | October 20, 2005 at 10:04 AM
I can wait Leetie - I'm a patient kind of gal. If I had a CrapCam like CG and his 12 year old son do, I'd look for a fallen shoe and send you a pic, but I don't, so I can't:(
Announcement
I just bought my FIRST $.99 iTune, Maggie May! I feel soooo technologically superior - very 21st century! woo hoo!!!
sly, sorry about your Cards....Jewish folk have a saying, Next Year in Jerusalem, so....next year in St. Louis! :)
*zips out to buy another song* - this is very fun
Posted by: Eleanor | October 20, 2005 at 10:05 AM
...and in a new home.
Posted by: slyeyes | October 20, 2005 at 10:08 AM
A few words of caution El:
BE CAREFUL WITH THAT THING! It seems harmless... ninety-nine cents here, ninety-nine cents there. Before you know it, you've paid two car payments worth of ninety-nine cents to Apple and your puter is slower then heck. NTTAWWT
Posted by: DDi | October 20, 2005 at 10:16 AM
This is unbelievabably cool! I just bought 2 more songs - they sure make it easy - good marketing!
Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
Tonight's the Night - Rod Stewart
Susan - who is it who performs Goin' to the Chapel? I need to have that one, too!

*feeling technologically inferior*
I had to have help figuring out how to even email a song. *sighs* I fear I shall never be caught up on these things.
Posted by: wolfie | October 20, 2005 at 10:20 AM
Kibby, that would be too funny! I'll see if she's feeling adventurous.
Posted by: Leetie | October 20, 2005 at 10:20 AM
*walking carefully towards Laynie*
Laynie, step away from the iTunes.... slowly.. and put your mouse down. No one will get hurt.
Posted by: DDi | October 20, 2005 at 10:21 AM
...seems iTunes (tm-thingie) makes double posting easier too!
Who knew?
Posted by: kibby f5` | October 20, 2005 at 10:21 AM
And if you're going to the pool, Kibby, I'll ask my brother in law to walk over and say hello to you right now! :)
Posted by: Leetie | October 20, 2005 at 10:25 AM
DDi, my car is old and is paid off, so doesn't that make it OK? :) But I see your point, ninety-nine cents here, ninety-nine cents there, pretty soon you're talking real money!!!
And - how does it slow down your computer? Is there a difference between the iTunes library and all the albums that I have on WMP?
And - I did NOT double post, I didn't even kibby, I just pushed post and went to get more coffee, so...?
And - speaking of kibbying, poor baby, golf or swimming *snork*! Don't forget to add gloating to your list of choices - makes it even more fun, doesn't it?? :-)

Actually the "next door" is the stop light just south. (1/4 mile) I'm staying at a friend's house 500 ft from the Bardmoor Elementary School (MY house is across the street from said school). Like may FL home owners, she has a pool.

I'm out of control, and it's only 7:30amPDT -
Maybe I should call CG to come over and "calm me down".....
oooohhhhhmmmmm....
Posted by: Eleanor | October 20, 2005 at 10:35 AM
Ok Kibby... I'll still ask my sister if she wants to take a quick snapshot with you. How long are you in town?
Posted by: Leetie | October 20, 2005 at 10:36 AM
1. Golf?
2. Swim?
3. Gloat?
MAN! The CHOICES!
*goes to practice chipping balls into the "water hazzard" (pool) so he can do all 3 at 1 time*

So Kibby is 'stuck' in St. Peties
And looking up kinfolk of Leetie's
"Should I spend my time gloating
whilst wireless MOATing?
"Or just sit by the pool dangling feeties?"

Morning all, and Hi Trinity! Any friend of Peri's... etc.
Di, loved the parental conversation! Too funny. And speaking of overheard conversations (how's that for a segue?), have you heard of Overheard in New York?
I can't guarantee the accuracy of the stories, but it's a very successful website.
For example, do Punky & Polly know about this:
Girl: Didn't you say pubic hair came back in style?
Guy #1: Yes, thank god. I hated the Brazilian wax. Made me feel like a pedophile.
Guy #2: What's a Brazilian wax?
Girl: It's when everything goes. Totally bare.
Guy #1: Yeah. Brazilian originally meant "ass wax only."
Guy #2: And then it became a country?
Mickey (or Sylvia and Mickey or whatever the song is.. )
Kat: Right, Mickey & Sylvia. Song is "Love is Strange" which is certainly appropriate around this place.
Peri, quit that! You're getting me hot!
Trillian: been so long since I listened to Jethro Tull (did I mention that we saw them at the Fillmore East - twice? - that I'd forgotten that one). But in general (not Trillian) I was looking for MOAT-related names.
Eleanor, though I know you're funning with me again, "Chapel of Love" (which was - of course - performed LIVE at the Katrina benefit) is by the Dixie Cups.
And you might want to watch Ellen today - your man Rod (you wish!) will be singing something from his new American Songbook 4.

Leetie, I'm here until next Wed. the 26th.
Posted by: kibby f5` | October 20, 2005 at 10:51 AM
El, Chapel Of Love is by the Dixie Cups.
Wolfie, if I didn't have to email sound clips to myself, and news stories and commercials to the other station, I'd still have no clue how to attach things and send them.
Kibby! You wonderful keeper of records...could I ask you to keep up with all of these name songs that have been mentioned? I might be able to...but I've got several things going on today...several interveiws...and I need to get off here very soon and burn a few of the football broadcasts onto cd so as to free up space in the computer.
And that takes forever to do.
I'm not sure when another name show will be...but I will be doing one...at some point.
And it's over a week away...but I will most likely do a Halloween themed one October 31...it being a Monday.
Well, I hit post, and it said it was done...without anything being done. Watch this double post...but it won't be a real double post cause this paragraph wasn't on the original...neener!

Jeff, me thought it was funny too. Till mom then came to me asking the very same questions. I tried to take out my eyeballs and turn my head but she wasn't buying it! *sigh*
El, last night I bought yet another 10 songs from that darned site. I'm telling you, its addictive. Or I have an addictive personality. Or both. Either way, it's bad for your pocket book.
Kibby, enjoy that sunshine for me! It's already quite chilly and cloudy here. Yesterday it was beautiful and sunny - high around 65, today its gloomy and barely going to hit 55.

I want to be in Florida. I don't care if a hurricane's nearby.
My daughter wants to fly me down to babysit her little boy on Nov. 4. If she's willing to pay the airfare, I'm certainly willing to go.

I really wanna be in Florida.
Posted by: rita | October 20, 2005 at 11:21 AM
kibby - WE GET IT!!! YOU'RE ON VACATION!!!
Triple post gloating is a little (!) over the top! We're glad you're having a good time, really we are. We, and I think I can speak for all MOATies, want you to be happy, really we do!! :-)
The Dixie Cups (not chicks *snork on me*), of course!
*slaps self on forehead*
What's up with the triple posting?? Where are we here?
Posted by: Eleanor | October 20, 2005 at 12:04 PM
If someone will pay to fly me down to Florida, I will pledge to defend Walter from the elements with my life. I'll even throw in a case of duct tape.
Trillian- *Snork* on "Waiting for the Wurms." As long as I don't have to meet them on the dark side of the moon. *grin*
Posted by: Wurm42 | October 20, 2005 at 12:17 PM
*tapes eyelids up to eyebrows*
My eyes are soooooooo heavy. It's virtually impossible to stay awake. I've got so much work to do and yet, I can't focus because the only thing on my mind is taking a nap... help me MOATies - entertain me with the fruits of your humour!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Posted by: DDi | October 20, 2005 at 12:22 PM
I was going to mention the "I guess I'll just go eat Wurms" song, but I thought that might be a bit to suggestive. :)
Posted by: Trillian | October 20, 2005 at 12:24 PM
*returning from dip in the pool, beads of water scattered across the shoulders, adjusts eyes to the darkness of indoors*
The Dixie Cups from what she's said, that ought to be Leetie.
Triple posts? Yea, something messed up there.
*goes back to swim 3 lengths of the pool*
Jeff, 2 matanees on Sat. - hurracane permitting.

BTW, if I had a camera with me, I'd share a picture of the socks I've on my footsies this mornin'. They are a lovely white, with purple and tan argyle print. :) Socks make me happy!
Posted by: DDi | October 20, 2005 at 12:40 PM
*perks up at Trillian's suggestion* I'm free after eight...
Posted by: Wurm42 | October 20, 2005 at 12:43 PM
I love Billy Joel - Uptown Girl! Sorry Billy, you lost her *sigh*.
But this reminds me that I wanted to ask for "We Didn't Start the Fire". Maybe tomorrow, Susan????
Posted by: Eleanor | October 20, 2005 at 12:50 PM
I considered that one El...I'll try to get it in...depends how much Dizzy I play.
Posted by: Susan | October 20, 2005 at 12:55 PM
DDi, I'm a little obsessed with socks these days myself. I never see any in stores that I like, so I'm knitting my own. They can get expensive, but they're exactly what I want. And they're fun to make!
Posted by: rita | October 20, 2005 at 12:55 PM
We're starting to get the nasty double and triple postings here already. Might be time to start scouting our next location.....
DDi - you? Have an addictive personality? NOOOOOOO..... Tamara's account of the trip says nothing about that - especially not the 9 bazillion pairs of socks.....
Peri - and you let him get away!?!?!?! When's the next episode coming out? This is liking reading Punky....
Posted by: Higgy | October 20, 2005 at 01:01 PM
*deblurking*
Attempting to catch up from the Medical Moat to here = NO WAY.
Peri, forgive the late response, but you hang there. You know that you and I have fought some of the same "demons". I haven't seen any of those nasty little nags since the Brat-Cave days. I hope that is some encouragement to you.

Higgy.. seeing we're a couple of years behind the main threads, we've taken to just taking "a jump to the right.." to quote the fine folks at Rocky Horror.
Oh.. and for the records.. Kibby didn't triple post.. he quadruple posted (with a backward flip.. he's very limber if you grease him up right [as opposed to upright.])
For anyone who wants to read it.. the NYT article about Rachael Ray. Having seen her shows, I will admit that she annoys me too, (that and half the pre-packaged mixes she uses you can't get in NZ.. gggrrrr) but I have a 20 minute meal cookbook so *blows raspberry in Rachael Ray's general direction*
Posted by: Lt. Woman | October 20, 2005 at 01:27 PM
and a jump to the right would bring us back to this thread that we attempted to move to previously. I think vixens would be a better word than foxes, but that's just me. Not that I would steal shoes at all. Me? Sweet, innocent li'l me? Naaaaaaah.
