Today's Fire Day. Wonder if Vol will put in an appearance.
Mad & Mike, I like the pics.
Everyone have a good day. See ya during the All Request Hour.
Peri, enjoy your holiday. Hope your weather is as good as ours is.

Peri, I'm jealous. Would that Americans got a May Day holiday like the rest of the industrial world.
As the song says, "all I want is a couple days off!"
And it's only Monday....aaaargghhhhhgurglegurgle

*pops up and outta the basement wearing nothing but a Hard Hat*
I gotta alotta werkin to do today, (not to mention Heinzing) so I'll see yas around lunch as well.
SUSAN- If you can hear me, I would like to make a formal request, How bout some JETHRO TULL-"Skating Away"???? Odd? Maybe, but I like it.
Anyhoo, better get crackin!
*looks down*
Speaking of crackin, I guess I should probably cover that up first.
Joshkr- Glad you're back, but I have to admit, while you were gone, I grew quite fond of Valerie. So, I must challenge you to a duel. The way I see it, a game of Naked Jello Twister is the only real way to prove our manliness, and make complete idiots of ourselves. Winner gets to keep Valerie and all three of her Ramparts. You just name the time, we all know the place. Higgy-I think we're gonna need that Dispens-o-matic, and possibly a Boom Schwackets (if the plan works and we get all the Bloglettes worked up enough to join in) *wink, wink nudge, nudge*
*bolts*

*Slides into front row seat for Naked Jello Twister*
Woohoo. Dibs on the really good seat!
And don't forget to slide into a spot on wcre early, like before all her local people log in and take all the good seats.
*whispers.. Susan.. check your email*
Mad & Mike ~ yall looked awesome. I can't wait till our Ren fest comes this summer.
Peri ~ I don't know if you need them or not, but I have March for you (okay, I get bored at work somedays).
Todays weird question.. at least, from me.. would you rather..
live in a world without roads?
or
a world without grass? (of the non-parfait type)
Posted by: wolfie | May 02, 2005 at 05:45 AM
I doubt he forgot his screws, however.
Posted by: neophyte | May 02, 2005 at 05:46 AM
Who is this Valerie who has three ramparts? Is she related to Eccentrica Gallumbits?
Posted by: Wurm42 | May 02, 2005 at 05:48 AM
I would actually rather we lived in a world without roads.
Posted by: Marvin | Paranoid Android | May 02, 2005 at 05:50 AM
There behind a glass is a real blade of grass
Be careful as you pass.
Move along! move along!
Posted by: Marvin | Paranoid Android | May 02, 2005 at 05:52 AM
Do you suppose he forgot his Black n Decker PivotPlus with duel speed drilling too?
Cause I've been looking for one of them.
What's that from Marvin? It sounds familiar.
And Valerie had 3 ramparts? Why don't I remember that part?
Posted by: wolfie | May 02, 2005 at 05:58 AM
It was Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Karn Evil 9.
Also, it's Snowing/Hailing outside!
Better than inside, I guess.

I got it, Wolfie. Thanks, you're a star! (And the only one so far, besides Kaf, to step in with help, I'll just add quietly.) So we've got Jan, Feb and Mar. Any willing to look up May 2006? Actually, I guess I could do this since I'm on holidays.
I'll play Nekkid Twister but I don't want Valerie. Can I just keep the one who loses?
Posted by: Peri | May 02, 2005 at 06:24 AM
The MOAT, where even those who lose still win!
Posted by: Marvin | Paranoid Android | May 02, 2005 at 06:26 AM
Roads? Roads?!! Where we're goin, we don't need roads!!
Neo- hehehehehe. true.
Wolfie- Ever seen/been to a Gallagher show? Yes, it's bound to get a lil messy. (How can we make Twister, if we can't make a mess?)
Peri- I'd never be sorry for being yours. ;) but I was actually referring to help with the Calendar stuff. Just let me know Holiday girl. And be sure to take us some pictures of your vacation. (yes, I know that you are just hanging out in your own place, and that's what we want pics of. You, just hanging out. Least, that's what Josh told me to say. ;-p)
OH !!! And Friday because I stayed home and played Mr.Mom, I heard very clearly for the first time, my lil fish(5 months now)say.....wait for it.........

Eleanor, it works fine for me. And I just started it up about two minutes ago. Weird, huh?
Posted by: NOTMarvin | Paranoid Android | May 02, 2005 at 07:25 AM
I accessed WCRE about an hour ago. THen my dial-up connection was dropped, and now I can't get back in.
RATS!

Mr.Fishair ~ messy is good isn't it? At least, that's what I've been told.
Peri, I found a National Parfait day! *happy wolfie dance* In November. Not that I've been working on calendar stuff instead of work again. I meant in addition too of course. I am a multitasking fool ya know. Want November days? Now I have two favorite November days. Parfait day btw, in case it's not on this years calender, is November 25th.

Booger!
Posted by: sandy beach | May 02, 2005 at 07:56 AM
Eleanor, I have no idea how to help on that. The last time I looked we were at the maximum number of listeners.
Like I'm ready for the show.
A few songs mentioned, may not have been requests as such, but I will probably play anyway, just because I can.
Mr.Fishair, the Jethro Tull, Skating Away...I don't think I've heard of that. Dire Straits, Skateaway yes. And I can't find Skating Away by Jethro Tull...so I can't play that one.
I got to drive Whitt's car (Toyota Prius, gas/electric hybrid) today. Coooool.
Posted by: Susan | May 02, 2005 at 07:58 AM
El, it means that all of the access has been taken up.
Someone needs to drop off in order for you to get in.
Posted by: slyeyes | May 02, 2005 at 08:00 AM
Hmmm...does anybody geekier than me know if it's possible to capture and mirror streaming media?
And what did we decide to call it when the MOATies overload a website? Dunking? (vs. slashdotting or wanging?)
Posted by: Wurm42 | May 02, 2005 at 08:00 AM
I understand Susan, but I started trying about an hour ago, so maybe Wurm, or one of our other computer people will read my plight and help out!
Posted by: Eleanor | May 02, 2005 at 08:02 AM
I thought it was called a fleshpile myself. But then, I'm computer illiterate.
Posted by: wolfie | May 02, 2005 at 08:03 AM
I have "Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of The New Day" by Jethro Tull. I'll play it in your honor, Mr. Fishair!
Posted by: Marvin | Paranoid Android | May 02, 2005 at 08:04 AM
El, I think we're all trying earlier and earlier and filling up the access at earlier times.
I did eventually get in by trying over and over. Just keep trying. (although it does get frustrating)

Can you prove how your show fills up your online feed and demand a raise out of it Susan? And thanks for the Janice. I soo needed it.
Altho the bossman didn't. And he informed me my socks are weird too.
*decides to leave shoes off for the rest of the day*
Posted by: wolfie | May 02, 2005 at 08:14 AM
I did talk to the tec guy, not too long ago...he said he was going to try to change the number of people who can acess it...he said it's not too hard to do, but it's kind of hard to talk someone through. So he was going to try to change it remotely.
It seems it has not been changed as yet.
Booger.

*gives up seat on wcre's bus*
I got to hear my Janice. Someone jump fast before some nonblog local listener finds it.
Posted by: wolfie | May 02, 2005 at 08:26 AM
Wurm, no...I don't think they've considered podcasts. The online thing is new enough to us...and we are not so bright technilogically. (somehow I think that is misspelled) However with Whitt on board, we may move forward a bit faster, as he does seem to know more about computers.
He also had a trial by fire this morning, doing the morning show. Although he did call me three or four times for advice.
And I think he'll be doing the lunch thing Friday, since I have to go to our station across the river and work things there from noon to 2. Figuring the logistics should be fun.

Now that I'm in, I'm thinking of songs I want to hear. Probably too late for today--but sometime this week, how about some Dylan?
You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go
Loved the Louis Armstrong, Susan!
Posted by: sandy beach | May 02, 2005 at 08:38 AM
I have been wanting to play some Dylan...don't really have any here.
Ooooh, the torture. Have to buy a Dylan cd like I've been wanting to do for some time. I have some cassettes, but I don't like to play cassettes on the air. I don't know why...can't sound worse than the scratchy albums and 45s we used to play.
Posted by: Susan | May 02, 2005 at 08:41 AM
Oh! Well, that song is on Blood on the Tracks.
But I'll try to think of something you have... :-)
Posted by: sandy beach | May 02, 2005 at 08:45 AM
Well!
I brought my laptop in today so I could listen to WCRE. While I have the connection, I opened up my Messenger in the event there are any Moaties and/or RL pals out there to chat with over lunch.
I just got IM'd by "Onehungstud" or something like that.
Obviously, not a Moatie.
I'm not saying that none of our Moaties are ....
oh never mind. You know what I mean.
Posted by: slyeyes | May 02, 2005 at 08:46 AM
For the record, sly: I did send you a Messenger invite. But I'm not that well hung.
That is all.
Posted by: sandy beach | May 02, 2005 at 08:51 AM
Well, Ok Susan. I understand. It was not one of their more popular songs. I'd take Aqualung or Thick as Brick if you can find one of those some time this week. ;)
Thank You Brother Marvin.
Addicted to Love was probably more appropriate anyway!
Someone Love me! a Large Moatarita and a Corona Chaser! And I'll Love you back. ;)
Oh, and BTW
WORK SUCKS!!
Posted by: Mr.Fishair | May 02, 2005 at 08:53 AM

I've never been shut out before - I'm trying not to take it personally!!!!!
Maybe I'll be able to get in later - good music all day, IMO!
*stops pouting and zips out to read morning papers*

And I think I played pool with him sly. His id lied.
Posted by: wolfie | May 02, 2005 at 08:55 AM
BTW, as some of you may remember, I had a tiny little freakfest last Friday at lunch.
But I managed to do a number on myself later that day. I stayed at work kind of late for a Friday because I was worried he'd call me at home. Before I left, I called and checked my messages and the message voice said I had FIVE new messages. I just knew they were all from him. I decided to listen to them when I got home, where I could freak out in the comfort of my own place. Of course, by waiting, the bus ride home was longer than it should have been and gave me more time to worry.
When I got home, I checked the caller ID and found out that 4 of the messages were from ME! I had forgotten that I had an early morning and to make sure I woke up, I had CallNotes call me four times. I was up and getting ready when the calls from CallNotes started coming in and just ignored the phone when it rang.
All of the messages went into voice mail and it was my voice saying "get your fat ass out of bed and get to work." I can't remember now who the fifth call was from.
I was relieved he didn't call -- and slightly put out that he didn't at least make the effort so I could reject him.
I know, I know......
Posted by: slyeyes | May 02, 2005 at 08:58 AM
Sly, sounds like a Y!IM member.
Not that I would have ever gotten any messages from someone using an ID like that.
Nope, not me.
Whitt was mentioning this morning something about putting a webcam in here.
I think that would not be neccessary.
What, let people see the chaos that is the noon hour?
Posted by: Susan | May 02, 2005 at 08:58 AM
And Sandy, I didn't get your invite, but you are on my list, so I guess it worked.
Posted by: slyeyes | May 02, 2005 at 09:01 AM
And Sly, I was talking about the messenger dude, not the one you were hoping would/would not call.

And a note to those listening on line...
The signal may stop in about half an hour. The computer is running a scan...and it sometimes stops the broadcast. However I have to run some errands. If I run out right now, I should make it back before any possible shutoff. Sometimes it stops, sometimes it doesn't.

Susan, about a year ago, I rented a car from Enterprise, and it ended up being a Prius. Totally cool! I rented it for a weekend trip. I was mesmerized by that computer readout in the dashboard. When I went to rent a car a couple of months later, I asked for the Prius, and they said they had sold it.
Rats! The last car I rented from them was a
Hyandi (sp?) Elantra. Not the same. IMHO, Hyandi is Korean for "piece of crap". (sorry to anyone who owns one, but I don't like them).

Marvin - ELP was the only concert I can remember that I actually walked out on. I wasn't that I didn't like their music (I did), but we were 3rd row stage right. They used folding chairs on the floor, and when we stood up (most of the time), the sound was so loud the chairs vibrated around on the floor like crazy.
