Almost four years ago, an Inspector General's audit ripped TV and Radio Martí bosses for improper hiring practices. The director resigned under a barrage of criticism for cronyism and patronage. Programming needed an overhaul to curtail bias, a separate study concluded.
Miami's powerful Cuban-American congressional leaders looked to local lawyer Pedro Roig to turn the operation around.
Today, many of the problems that have dogged the Martí broadcasters for two decades remain. A miniscule number of people in Cuba hear or see the broadcasts. The Office of Cuba Broadcasting, which oversees the Martí operation, is once again beset by scandal -- a top executive was indicted last month on a kickback-for-contracts scheme.

Is a Shamed how some people take advantage of the Unmanageable situation.Great Article looking forward for the Next one.

The local TV news, especially the spanish TV news is totally ignoring this story. Its disappointing and not surprising.
On the other hand, the FIU Cuban Spy story is getting first coverage.
You'd think the TV news media would be concerned about tens of millions of tax dollars being squandered in programming that is going into a void.
I guess they aren't.
Keep up the good work Oscar.
PS - Paul Crespo decided to not talk about your story on his show today. Even though yesterday he specifically said he would, he even mentioned your name as "Oscarito".
He instead decided to speak with Dr. Antonio Rafael de la Cova (I'm sure not for the first time), trying to figure out why the US didn't engage in a military mission on Cubain the 90's, as it did with Nicaragua in the 80's.
What a bore.
There is a silence on tens of millions disappearing before our eyes.

Paul:
You are complaining about "tens of millions" being "squandered" in the furtherance of Cuban freedom while you are silent about the billions being spent to create a modern democratic state in a country where democracy of any kind is unwanted and untenable?
Why don't you became a camp follower for Cindy Sheehan and leave Cuba alone?
Castro is a dead letter. There is nothing that sycophants like yourself can do to rescue him from the ash can of history.
Move on to Chávez or renew your love affair with Daniel Ortega.
