In a rare revival, Superstar Gloria Estefan will reunite with the Miami Sound Machine -- Latin pop's original crossover group -- to rock the AmericanAirlines Arena Saturday in a charity concert for Zo's Summer Groove, as part of Miami Heat Star Alonzo Mourning's charity fundraising. The concert will benefit several local charities, including the Overtown Youth Center and Honey Shine Mentoring Program. Said Gloria in a written statement: "I feel honored and privileged to have been invited to participate in ZO's Summer Groove. I am very impressed with the Overtown Youth Center he has created in Miami; I think all that he is doing is for a great cause and it will make a difference in all of the kids' lives."

John, if you want to talk about us Cubans in general like you know what you're saying, that's completely fine. Nobody will be able to whip out a pie chart of the number of Cubans who are racists, so you'll be able to talk all the crap you want and never be "proven" wrong.
But now Gloria Estefan thinks Alonzo Mourning is nothing but a "nigger"? (If you're going to curse like a sailor to insult Cubans, you can cut the Boy Scout act and the "n-word" stuff. Referring to it and using it are two different things.)
I suppose you have an explanation of how she and millions of us "Chicano Cubans" (which, by the way, is possibly the absolute stupidest slur I have ever read. Thanks for that little nugget) lined up for hours in mutiple cities to pay our last respects to this "n-word":

If you're going to be an obnoxious insulting wuss, can you at least do people the favor of sincere efforts at making some sense?

For the first time, the African-American and Hispanic Community came together for a good cause. What a show!

Celia is a Cuban legend. And I again commend John for refraining to use the infamouse "n" word.
If Gloria didn't want to perform, it's her right. I'm not a huge fan of her music by a long shot, but I'm glad she stood up for what she believed.

A.T.
You asked me not to use that word anymore, and i did not. And i will never use that word in here out of respect for you. However, i am shocked that you linked me and PeeWee together. We have been joshing back and forth for nearly six months. For you to think that i am responsible for any of the pedophilia post is disappointing to say the least. Then again, i have never seen you once scold PeeWee, like you have me. Perhaps, you know that i am reasonable, and Peewee isnt.

I said to you: We have been joshing back and forth for nearly six months.
A.T., I was referring to you and me joshing back and forth together.

I have no idea who this Pee Wee is and I did not believe you were involved in the pedophile issues. In fact, I saw one post from you saying that you were against anything that glorified that (I'm paraphrasing), so I knew it wasn't you. I just stated that I was changing the channel due to the content of the posts. I know you have nothing to do with it and I didn't even want to get involved with talking (or posting) about it.
Child molesters should all be subjected to the same amount of torture and cruelty that they have inflicted on society's most defenseless citizens. Sorry if I offend anyone...call the ACLU if you so feel inclined.
John, that was definitely not directed towards you. You and I have had lots of fun on these blogs and never once have you even come close to the abominations posted elsewhere. I enjoy you thoroughly.

Thanks sugah. You and none are the only two that seem to "really" understand me.

suggestion: get a typepad account, maybe it will help protect your nick, though since i don't know anything about that stuff, i can't be sure...

yah, i will look into that. I have very real enemies, who apparently use anything to attack me. Need a freggin flak jacket in here.

All I know is that we are getting some new bloggers in here that are completely deviating from the subject at hand even more than we usually did. It's ruining all our good, clean fun....oh, well, off I go to see the only TV show I watch regularly: Hell's Kitchen. (All those VH1 "I Love" specials don't count!)
